Magic Johnson Surprises Paul Mitchell School Owners at Biannual Meeting
To say thanks for supporting his Magic Johnson Foundation, Earvin "Magic" Johnson paid a surprise visit to Paul Mitchell School owners at their May 2013 owners summit in Beverly Hills. Each year, students and staff from the 101 Paul Mitchell cosmetology schools raise money and awareness for selected charities. Raising $5 to $10 at a time with grassroots activities like cut-a-thons, hair shows, and car washes, the schools have raised over $11.2 million in 10 years, including $2.6 million in their 2013 campaign. To date, they've donated $280,000 to the Magic Johnson Foundation.
Lunatic Fringe Salon on The List!
CINCINNATI - Clients are heading to the salon looking to get into the spring of things. Beauty experts at Lunatic Fringe Salon in Liberty Township say this year it's about bright color. "This season bold lips are really in so you want to put like a bright rose color on your lips. Anything just kind of give you that pop," said make-up artist Sydney Jaynes. Jaynes says the smoky eye is out. "This year it's all about pastel. You can see here that it's just like a nice pretty shade of blue and we have like a light brown to give her the smoky eye look without being as harsh, so it's just all fresh and clean," Jaynes said. Another look that's popping up this spring the strong bang. The salon says thanks to our First Lady Michelle Obama fringe is in. "The strong fringe are really amazing just because they're really dramatic, but they're really classic at the same time, so it goes for any kind of person. You could have a fun really flirty person doing the strong fringe. You could have your classic women doing the fringe as well," said hairstylist Liz Lane. Lane says retro finger waves are also back in style, but with a twist. They're called electric finger waves you make with your curling iron. Congratulations to our graduate and salon owner Lisa Gear and her rocking team of stylists!! We are so proud:)
